Who Is The Family Fairy?
My name is Sharon Gough and I have worked with children for over 20 years. I have lived in Cornwall all my life, and have lived in Par for the last 18 years. We all have our specialities in life, our passions that we excel at. Children are my speciality and passion. I understand children, can get down on to their level and build positive relationships with them. I originally trained as a Primary School Teacher at Marjon’s in Plymouth from 1998 - 2002, and then later qualified as a Play Therapist in 2012 in Bristol.
I set up my own business in 2015 specialising in Play Therapy and offering parental advice and support, for when parents/carers need a helping hand, for example, in regards to behaviour, relationships and routines. Sometimes parents need someone who will listen to them and offer suggestions to help them guide their child through life. I do this in a non-judgemental way, offering a variety of parenting styles and techniques that help with their children.
I offer a child centred approach to Play Therapy, helping children who may be suffering emotional, social or behavioural issues. Life is full of twists and turns and, unfortunately, not all children find it easy to cope with change or challenges of life. I have the belief that all children have the capability to be resilience and rise up through any challenge that is presented to them, but some children need extra support in finding the strength within them. As a certified play therapist I can help equip children with the ‘Tools’ needed to help them through any issues they are facing.
